   Power down device

   Turn off your Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus completely before starting the repair process. Press and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen.

   Eject SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool or paperclip into the small hole on the top edge of the phone. Push firmly to pop out the tray and remove both the SIM card and microSD card.

   Heat rear glass

   Apply a heat gun or hair dryer along the outer edges of the rear glass for 2-3 minutes to soften the internal adhesive. Keep the heat source moving to avoid overheating the battery.

   Attach suction cup

   Place a suction cup onto the lower half of the back glass cover. Press firmly down to secure the suction.

   Insert opening pick

   Pull up on the suction cup to create a small gap between the glass and the outer frame. Slide a plastic opening pick into the gap.

   Slice rear adhesive

   Carefully slide the pick around all four edges of the phone to cut through the perimeter adhesive. Take care not to insert the pick too deep near the camera assembly.

   Disconnect fingerprint sensor

   Gently lift the right edge of the rear glass like a book cover. Use a spudger to disconnect the fingerprint sensor flex cable located right next to the rear camera.

   Remove back glass cover

   Lift and remove the back glass panel entirely from the phone chassis. Place it on a clean surface.

   Unscrew wireless charging coil

   Remove the six Phillips #00 screws holding the upper antenna and wireless charging pad module in place.

    Remove wireless charging assembly

    Peel up the wireless charging coil pad starting from the bottom edge and unhook the plastic frame from the chassis.

    Unscrew loudspeaker module

    Remove the five Phillips #00 screws securing the lower loudspeaker assembly at the bottom of the device.

    Remove loudspeaker module

    Insert a plastic spudger beneath the loudspeaker housing and pop it out from the phone chassis.

    Disconnect battery cable

    Use a plastic spudger to pry the battery flex cable straight up from its connector on the motherboard. This prevents short circuits while working on the device.

    Disconnect display and ribbon cables

    Disconnect the main display flex cable and the daughterboard connector ribbon cable from the main motherboard.

    Disconnect antenna coaxial cables

    Use precision tweezers or a spudger to carefully snap off the blue and white antenna coaxial cables from the charging port board.

    Unscrew charging port board

    Remove the two Phillips #00 screws securing the charging port board to the lower metal frame.

    Remove charging port assembly

    Carefully pry up the charging port daughterboard along with the integrated headphone jack assembly and lift it out of the chassis.

    Insert new charging port assembly

    Align the replacement charging port board into the lower recess of the chassis and press down gently until it sits flush.

    Secure charging port screws

    Reinstall the two Phillips #00 screws to anchor the new daughterboard to the bottom chassis.

    Reconnect internal cables

    Reconnect the antenna coaxial cables, display cable, and charging port main connector ribbon cable to their respective sockets.

    Reconnect battery cable

    Press the battery flex connector straight down onto the motherboard until it clicks into position.

    Reinstall loudspeaker and midframe

    Position the lower loudspeaker and upper wireless charging module onto the chassis. Fasten all eleven Phillips #00 screws tightly.

    Reconnect fingerprint sensor

    Hold the back glass near the frame and reconnect the fingerprint sensor ribbon cable to the motherboard.

    Reseal back glass cover

    Apply fresh adhesive strips along the frame perimeter, then press the rear cover firmly down to seal the device.
