Step-by-step

Power Off Device and Remove SIM
1 minTurn off your Galaxy S8 Plus completely. Insert a SIM eject tool into the top tray hole to pop out the SIM and microSD card tray.

3 minApply heat to the edges of the rear panel using a heat gun or hairdryer for 2 to 3 minutes to soften the strong perimeter adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPlace a suction cup onto the lower half of the back cover near the bottom edge and pull upward to create a slight gap.

Insert Opening Pick
2 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap created between the rear glass and the metal frame.

Slice Left Edge Adhesive
2 minSlide the opening pick carefully along the left edge of the phone to cut through the factory adhesive seal.

Slice Right Edge and Top Adhesive
2 minMove the pick around the bottom corners and up the right edge, keeping insertion depth under 3mm near the camera.

Disconnect Fingerprint Sensor
2 minSlightly lift the rear glass from the right side and use a spudger to disconnect the short fingerprint reader ribbon cable.

3 minRemove the 11 Phillips #00 screws securing the wireless charging coil and upper antenna midframe.

1 minUse a plastic spudger to lift the battery press connector straight up from its motherboard socket.

Unscrew Loudspeaker Module
2 minRemove the 5 Phillips #00 screws securing the bottom loudspeaker assembly to the frame.

Remove Loudspeaker Module
2 minInsert a spudger under the top lip of the speaker module and pry it upward out of the phone body.

Apply Isopropyl Alcohol
3 minDrip a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol into the gaps surrounding the battery to dissolve the adhesive.

Pry Out Old Battery
4 minInsert a flat plastic opening card under the bottom edge of the battery and slowly lever it out of the recess.

Clean Battery Well
2 minWipe away remaining adhesive residue inside the battery compartment using isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.

Apply New Battery Adhesive
2 minLay pre-cut battery adhesive strips into the housing recess and peel away the protective backing film.

2 minLower the new battery into the well, press down firmly for 10 seconds, and reconnect the flex cable to the motherboard.
