Step-by-step

Remove SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole at the top edge of the device to release and remove the SIM and microSD card tray.

Heat Back Cover
3 minApply heat around the outer perimeter of the back cover for 2 to 3 minutes to soften the rear housing adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
2 minPlace a suction cup on the lower half of the rear glass and gently pull upward to create an opening pick gap.

Slice Rear Adhesive
4 minInsert a plastic pick into the gap and slide along all four edges of the back cover to cut through the adhesive seal.

Disconnect Fingerprint Sensor
2 minSlightly tilt the back cover open and use a spudger to disconnect the fingerprint sensor cable from the mainboard.

Unscrew Rear Midframe
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the 11 screws securing the rear midframe and wireless charging shield.

Remove Wireless Charging Module
2 minGently insert a plastic spudger under the top edges of the midframe assembly and lift it out of the chassis.

Disconnect Battery Press Connector
1 minPry the battery flex connector straight up from its motherboard socket using the flat end of a plastic spudger.

Disconnect Lower Interconnect Cables
2 minDetach the display flex cable and main board-to-board ribbon cables from the lower daughterboard.

Unscrew Daughterboard
2 minRemove the single Phillips #000 screw securing the lower sub-board assembly to the base frame.

Pry Up Microphone Daughterboard
3 minCarefully pry up the lower sub-board assembly containing the primary microphone module from the bottom of the housing.

Install Replacement Microphone Sub-Board
3 minAlign the new primary microphone board with the lower housing recesses and press it firmly into position.
