Turn off the device

Detach the midframe

Disconnect the battery
1 minUse the flat end of a plastic spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from the motherboard.

Remove speaker screws
2 minUnscrew the 2 Phillips #00 screws securing the loudspeaker module at the bottom of the device.

Pry out the loudspeaker
2 minWedge a plastic opening pick beneath the loudspeaker enclosure and lift it out of the lower recess.

Clean contact points
2 minLightly wipe the gold spring contacts on the motherboard using a cotton swab moistened with isopropyl alcohol.

Install the new loudspeaker
2 minAlign the replacement loudspeaker module with the lower housing and press it down into position.

Fasten speaker screws
2 minReinstall the 2 Phillips #00 screws to hold the loudspeaker firmly in place.

Reconnect the battery
1 minAlign the battery flex connector over its socket on the motherboard and press down until it clicks.
