Step-by-step

Eject the SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the tray on the top frame. Press firmly to pop out the tray and remove it.

Heat the rear glass
3 minApply heat to the outer edges of the rear cover using a heat gun for 2 to 3 minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach suction cup
2 minPlace a suction cup onto the lower portion of the rear glass cover and pull upward to create a slight gap.

Slice through rear adhesive
4 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap and slide it along all edges to cut the adhesive tape.

Remove the back glass
1 minLift the rear glass cover off the frame once the adhesive is fully separated.

Unscrew the midframe
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 13 screws securing the inner midframe.

Separate midframe from chassis
2 minPress down on the battery while pulling up the plastic midframe edges to detach it from the display panel.

Disconnect the battery
1 minPry the battery connector straight up from the motherboard using the flat end of a spudger.

Disconnect the front camera
1 minUse a spudger to unplug the front camera flex cable connector near the top of the logic board.

Disconnect display flex cables
2 minPry up the display connector and digitizer flex cables from their sockets on the logic board.

Disconnect upper module connectors
2 minDisconnect the earpiece speaker and headphone jack flex connectors from the upper logic board.

Unplug antenna cables
2 minUse tweezers to carefully lift the red and blue RF antenna coaxial cables from their logic board board connectors.

Disconnect daughterboard cable
1 minUnplug the bottom charging port flex cable connector attached to the underside of the logic board.

Remove the old logic board
2 minGently lift the top edge of the logic board and pull it out of the chassis frame.

Position the new logic board
2 minAngle the lower end of the replacement logic board into the frame and press it flat into position.

Reconnect internal cables
4 minSnap all display, camera, daughterboard connectors, and antenna cables firmly onto the new logic board.

Reinstall the midframe
3 minSnap the midframe back over the internal components and secure all 13 Phillips #00 screws.

Reseal the back glass
3 minApply a fresh precut adhesive strip to the frame and press the rear glass firmly in place.
