Eject the SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool or paperclip into the hole at the top of the device to pop out the SIM card tray.

Heat the Rear Glass Cover
2 minApply a heat gun or iOpener to the back cover for two minutes to soften the perimeter adhesive.

Create a Separation Gap
2 minAttach a suction cup to the lower back glass and pull up firmly to create a small gap near the seam.

Slice the Rear Glass Adhesive
4 minInsert an opening pick into the gap and slice along all four edges to fully detach the adhesive.

Remove the Rear Glass

3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 13 screws securing the midframe to the display assembly.

Unseat the Soft Key Flex Cables
4 minSlide a thin plastic pick underneath the touch key flex cables on either side of the micro-USB port to release them.

Unscrew the Charging Port Assembly
2 minRemove the two screws locking the headphone jack and charging port daughterboard to the bottom frame.

Remove the Old Charging Port
2 minPry up and extract the old charging port assembly from the bottom of the device housing.

Install the New Charging Port Assembly
2 minAlign the replacement daughterboard into the bottom housing and push it gently into position.

Secure the Soft Key Flex Cables
2 minPosition the touch key ribbons accurately beneath the screen bezel and press them flat against the frame.

Reinstall the Motherboard
3 minLower the motherboard back into the chassis and reconnect the display, camera, home button, and antenna connectors.

Attach Midframe and Secure Screws
4 minPress the midframe back onto the display assembly until it snaps in, then reinstall the 13 Phillips screws.

Reseal and Install the Back Cover
