Power Off and Remove Back Cover
1 minPress and hold the power button to shut down your phone completely. Insert your thumbnail into the slot on the top-left edge of the back cover and lift it away.

1 minInsert your fingernail into the notch at the base of the battery compartment. Lift and remove the battery from the phone.

Remove MicroSD and SIM Cards
1 minSlide the SIM and microSD cards out of their shared dual-slot tray inside the battery cavity.

Pry Off Home Cable Door
1 minLocate the small plastic access flap in the battery compartment. Use a spudger to gently pop off this cover door.

Disconnect Home Button Cable
1 minUse the flat end of a spudger to pry the home button ribbon connector straight up from its socket.

Heat Display Perimeter
3 minApply heat along all four outer edges of the display glass for 2 to 3 minutes to soften the screen adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPress a suction cup firmly near the upper edge of the display glass to create a strong seal.

Slice Screen Adhesive
3 minPull up gently on the suction cup and insert a plastic opening pick under the glass edge to slice through softened adhesive.

Disconnect Display Cable
2 minLift the top of the display glass up slightly, then use a spudger to disconnect the display ribbon cable from the top-right motherboard socket.

Remove Display Assembly
1 minGuide the home button ribbon cable through its slot as you lift the display assembly completely away from the body.

Remove Midframe Screws
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all ten 4.0 mm screws around the midframe perimeter.

Separate Midframe Frame
2 minPush firmly through the battery compartment cavity while holding the outer plastic rim to pop the midframe free from the chassis.

Pry Out Defective Loudspeaker
2 minLocate the loudspeaker module at the bottom section of the midframe assembly and pry it out using tweezers.

Install Replacement Loudspeaker
2 minPress the replacement loudspeaker into the lower midframe cavity until its spring contacts seat flush against the mounting surface.

Reinstall Midframe and Screws
3 minSnap the midframe back onto the phone chassis and tighten all ten Phillips #00 perimeter screws.

Reconnect Display and Reassemble
4 minApply new adhesive strips, reconnect display ribbon cable, click the home button connector into place, close the cover flap, and press display down firmly.
