Step-by-step

Power Down and Remove Rear Cover
2 minTurn off your Samsung Galaxy S5 completely. Insert a fingernail or opening tool into the notch near the power button to snap off the rear panel.

Remove Battery and MicroSD Card
2 minLift the battery out from the recess at the bottom. Remove any installed microSD or SIM cards from their respective slots.

5 minPress a suction cup onto the upper glass, pull up gently, and insert a plastic prying pick under the display edge to slice through the adhesive.

Disconnect Home Button Cable

Remove Display Assembly

3 minUse fine-tip tweezers to gently unseat the power button switch flex cable from its bracket on the inner edge of the frame.

3 minPosition the replacement power button flex cable into the frame slot and press it down so the contact pins seat correctly.

Snap Midframe Back Together
3 minAlign the midframe with the rear housing and press firmly around the edges until all perimeter clips snap securely.

Reinstall Midframe Screws
4 minDrive the ten Phillips #00 screws back into their respective holes along the midframe.

Apply Screen Adhesive Strips
5 minLay fresh double-sided pre-cut adhesive strips around the edges of the frame before reattaching the display assembly.

Connect Display and Home Button Cables
4 minAttach the home button connector at the bottom, lay the display down, and press the main screen connector back into place through the rear cutout.

Replace Display Access Door and Battery
3 minSnap the small plastic access door over the screen connector, reinsert the battery, and snap the back cover shut.
