   Turn off the phone completely

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is fully powered down before proceeding.

   Remove the back cover

   Insert a plastic opening tool into the notch at the top edge of the back cover. Gently pry upward to unclip and remove the cover.

   Extract the battery

   Use your fingernail or plastic opening tool at the bottom recess of the battery bay. Lift the battery up and remove it from the device.

   Remove SIM and microSD cards

   Press inward on the installed micro-SIM and microSD cards to unlatch them. Slide both cards completely out of their slots.

   Warm the display edges

   Apply a heated iOpener or heat gun around the front glass perimeter for about two minutes. This softens the adhesive holding the display assembly.

   Slice screen adhesive

   Insert a plastic opening pick under the upper glass edge. Carefully slide the pick around the perimeter to separate the screen adhesive.

   Disconnect the display cable

   Pry open the small plastic access cap near the top of the frame. Use tweezers to disconnect the display ribbon cable from the motherboard terminal.

   Lift off the display assembly

   Gently lift the loosened AMOLED screen assembly away from the body frame. Place it face-down on an anti-static surface.

   Remove midframe screws

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all visible screws securing the internal midframe to the outer chassis.

    Detach the midframe

    Insert a plastic opening tool into the seam between the midframe and housing. Pry around the perimeter to release the plastic clips and remove the midframe.

    Disconnect the microphone cable

    Locate the primary microphone flex cable near the bottom of the motherboard. Use fine tweezers to unclip the connector straight upward.

    Pry out the microphone assembly

    Gently lift the microphone module and attached flex strip out of the lower chassis recess. Use isopropyl alcohol if adhesive resists.

    Position the new microphone

    Place the replacement microphone module precisely into the lower frame cavity. Press down lightly to stick the adhesive backing.

    Attach the flex cable

    Align the replacement microphone ribbon connector over its socket on the motherboard. Press down firmly until it snaps into place.

    Secure the midframe

    Snap the plastic midframe back onto the main chassis assembly. Reinstall and tighten all Phillips #00 midframe screws.

    Reconnect the display cable

    Feed the display ribbon cable through the chassis opening and press the connector into its socket. Snap the small plastic protective cap closed.

    Adhere the display assembly

    Apply fresh pre-cut adhesive strips around the frame perimeter. Carefully align the display assembly and press firmly along all edges.

    Reinstall battery and rear cover

    Reinsert the microSD and SIM cards, place the battery back into its bay, and snap the rear cover tightly closed.
