   Power off the device

   Press and hold the Power button, then tap 'Power off' on the screen. Ensure the phone is completely shut down before proceeding.

   Remove the rear cover

   Insert a plastic opening tool into the notch near the top power button corner. Gently lever the rear cover away from the phone body.

   Remove the battery

   Use your fingernail or a spudger at the bottom recess to lift the battery up. Pull the battery out of its compartment.

   Remove SIM and MicroSD cards

   Press down slightly on the SIM and MicroSD cards and slide them out of their respective slots.

   Heat the display perimeter

   Apply a heated iOpener or heat gun to the front glass edges for about two minutes. This softens the adhesive securing the display to the frame.

   Attach a suction cup

   Place a suction cup near the top edge of the display assembly. Press down firmly to secure full suction onto the glass.

   Insert opening pick

   Pull up gently on the suction cup to create a small gap at the top edge. Insert a thin opening pick beneath the glass.

   Slice perimeter adhesive

   Slide the opening pick around all four edges of the screen to sever the adhesive bonds. Take extra care near the bottom capacitive keys.

   Disconnect the display cable

   Gently lift the top of the display away from the frame to access the ribbon cable. Use a spudger to pop the display connector straight up.

    Remove the display assembly

    Guide the ribbon cable through the frame slot carefully. Separate the screen completely from the phone frame and set it aside.

    Unscrew the midframe

    Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all 10 screws securing the midframe to the internal housing.

    Unclip the midframe

    Insert a spudger into the seam between the midframe and the rear plastic housing. Pry along the sides to release all plastic clips.

    Separate midframe from housing

    Lift the midframe up and off the inner chassis assembly. Place the midframe safely to the side.

    Disconnect the coaxial antenna cable

    Use tweezers or the flat edge of a spudger to disconnect the blue antenna connector from the daughterboard.

    Disconnect capacitive key flex cables

    Unplug the two soft button flex cable connectors located adjacent to the charging port area.

    Remove the charging port daughterboard

    Insert a flat plastic spudger beneath the charging port board and pry upward to free it from the frame adhesive.

    Install the new charging port board

    Align the replacement charging port assembly over its housing slot and press down firmly to secure it.

    Reconnect internal cables

    Snap the antenna cable and the two touch button flex cables firmly back onto their respective connectors.

    Reinstall midframe and screws

    Snap the midframe back onto the housing perimeter and reinstall the 10 Phillips #00 screws tightly.

    Apply display adhesive and reassemble

    Apply pre-cut display adhesive strips to the frame, reconnect the display ribbon, and press the glass firmly into place.
