   Power off the device

   Press and hold the Power button, then tap Turn Off to ensure the phone is completely shut down.

   Remove the rear cover

   Insert a fingernail or plastic opening pick into the pry notch near the power button to unclip and remove the back panel.

   Lift out the battery

   Pry the battery upward from the recess at the bottom edge and remove it from the battery well.

   Eject SIM and microSD cards

   Press down slightly and slide out any installed SIM card and microSD card from their respective metal trays.

   Unscrew the midframe

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the nine identical screws securing the internal midframe housing.

   Unclip the midframe

   Insert a plastic pry tool between the chrome bezel and the display assembly, running it along the perimeter to release the plastic clips.

   Disconnect the display connector

   Use a spudger to pop the display press connector straight up off the top right of the motherboard.

   Disconnect the front camera and sensor connectors

   Pry up the front-facing camera, sensor array, and earpiece speaker ribbon cable connectors from the motherboard.

   Disconnect the lower antenna coaxial cable

   Gently pry up the gold antenna cable connector located near the bottom right of the motherboard.

    Disconnect the main charging port flex connector

    Pop the wide charging port assembly ribbon connector off the bottom section of the motherboard.

    Remove the motherboard retaining screw

    Remove the single black Phillips #00 screw holding the upper section of the motherboard to the frame.

    Lift out the motherboard

    Carefully tilt up the top edge of the motherboard and lift it clear of the chassis, taking care not to snag any lingering cables.

    Unpeel the soft key ribbon cables

    Use tweezers to carefully pry the left Menu key and right Back key ribbon cables off the lower frame adhesive.

    Pry up the damaged charging port board

    Insert a flat spudger underneath the micro-USB board assembly and pry it off the adhesive backing inside the bottom case.

    Adhere the new charging port assembly

    Align the micro-USB port with the bottom cutout and press the new charging port flex board firmly into position.

    Reattach the soft key ribbon cables

    Place and press the Menu and Back touch sensor ribbons onto their adhesive mounting pads on the new daughterboard.

    Reinstall the motherboard and reconnect cables

    Lower the motherboard into place and firmly press down all connector flexes until they snap onto the board.

    Fasten the motherboard screw and snap the midframe

    Reinstall the single motherboard screw, then press the midframe onto the frame until all perimeter clips engage securely.

    Reinstall screws and outer components

    Tighten the nine midframe Phillips screws, insert the SIM/microSD cards and battery, then snap the rear cover back on.
