   Remove the battery cover

   Slide open the battery compartment latch located on the bottom right side of the phone. Lift the cover off to reveal the battery chamber.

   Extract the battery

   Press down on the plastic battery release tab inside the compartment. Lift the battery up and out of the phone body.

   Remove SIM and microSD cards

   Press inward on the microSD card and SIM card to release their spring locks. Pull both cards straight out of their respective slots.

   Unscrew the rear outer casing screws

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all visible screws along the rear housing. Store the screws safely in a parts tray.

   Detach the camera lens trim ring

   Insert a plastic prying tool under the decorative ring around the camera lens assembly. Pry gently around the rim until the ring pops free.

   Remove the hidden frame screws

   Locate the additional Phillips screws previously covered by the camera lens ring. Remove them with your Phillips #00 screwdriver.

   Pry open the mid-frame seam

   Insert a spudger into the seam between the front screen section and the rear mid-frame. Slide the tool along the edges to release the plastic retaining clips.

   Separate the mid-frame from the chassis

   Carefully lift the mid-frame off the front body of the device. Ensure no internal components or cables catch during removal.

   Disconnect the volume button flex cable

   Locate the volume button press connector on the motherboard side wall. Use a spudger to gently pry the connector straight up from its socket.

    Peel off the volume button flex assembly

    Slide precision tweezers under the volume flex cable ribbon. Carefully peel the adhesive-backed cable off the interior frame.

    Clean the volume key housing

    Inspect the physical volume button area for dust or debris. Wipe the interior switch cavity using a cotton swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol.

    Install the new volume button flex cable

    Remove the protective adhesive backing from the replacement flex cable. Align the buttons precisely into their frame recesses and press down firmly.

    Attach the button cable connector

    Position the volume flex ribbon connector directly over the motherboard socket. Press down gently until you feel it snap into place.

    Snap the mid-frame back into place

    Align the mid-frame over the main body assembly. Press firmly along all outer edges until the plastic clips click securely shut.

    Reinstall all frame and trim screws

    Thread and tighten the Phillips screws back into the inner frame and camera rim area. Replace the camera lens trim ring.

    Reinsert cards and test volume functionality

    Reinstall the SIM card, microSD card, and battery before snapping the battery door shut. Power on the device and test the volume up and down keys.
