Step-by-step

Power Off the Phone
1 minPress and hold the Power button until the shutdown menu appears. Tap 'Power off' and confirm to turn off the device completely.

Remove the Back Cover
1 minInsert a plastic opening tool into the notch near the power button. Gently pry the rear plastic panel away from the device chassis.

Remove the Battery
1 minInsert a plastic spudger or fingernail into the recess at the bottom of the battery compartment. Lift the battery up and out of the phone.

Remove the SIM Card
1 minPress inward on the SIM card until it clicks, then slide it completely out of its slot.

1 minPush the MicroSD card slightly inward to release the spring mechanism, then pull it straight out of the slot.

3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all ten screws securing the midframe to the display assembly.

Pry Off the Midframe
3 minInsert a plastic opening tool between the front glass assembly and outer bezel. Run the tool along the perimeter to release the plastic clips and separate the midframe.

Disconnect the Charging Port Flex Cable
2 minUse the flat end of a plastic spudger to pry the charging port flex connector straight up from its motherboard socket.

Disconnect Antenna Connectors
2 minUse fine tweezers to carefully pry up the coaxial antenna cables attached to the charging port daughterboard.

Remove the Micro-USB Daughterboard
2 minInsert a spudger under the charging port assembly and gently lift it out of the lower phone housing.

Position the New Charging Board
2 minAlign the replacement charging port daughterboard over the lower housing recess and press it gently into place.

Reconnect Antenna Cables
2 minUse tweezers to position the coaxial antenna connectors over their headers on the new board and press down gently until they click.

Attach the Charging Port Flex Cable
2 minAlign the flex cable press connector over its socket on the motherboard and press down firmly to snap it in place.

Reattach the Midframe
2 minPosition the midframe over the front assembly and press along the edges until all perimeter clips snap securely into place.

Secure the Midframe Screws
3 minReinstall the ten Phillips #00 screws into the midframe until turn-tight.

Reinsert the SIM and MicroSD Cards
1 minSlide your SIM card and MicroSD card back into their respective slots until they click into place.

Reinstall Battery and Back Cover
1 minPlace the battery back into its bay, align the back cover, and press firmly along the edges to snap it close.
