Step-by-step

Power Down the Device

Remove the Back Cover

Remove the Battery

Disconnect Board Connectors
3 minDisconnect the display, digitizer, front camera, and power button press-fit connectors from the motherboard.

Remove the Motherboard Screw
2 minUnscrew the single Phillips #00 screw holding the top section of the motherboard to the frame.

Lift Out the Motherboard
2 minCarefully angle the top edge of the motherboard up and remove it from the phone body.

Pry Up the Volume Button Assembly
3 minSlide precision tweezers under the volume button flex cable and peel it off the adhesive frame ledge.

Remove the External Volume Key
2 minPush the outer plastic volume rocker inward from the side of the housing to dislodge it.

Install New Volume Button Assembly
3 minPress the replacement volume rocker into the side housing and stick the attached flex cable contacts onto the inner frame.

Reinstall the Motherboard
2 minLower the motherboard back into position, ensuring no flex cables are trapped beneath it, and secure its screw.
