Power Off the Device
1 minPress and hold the Power button until the power options menu appears on screen. Tap Power Off and wait for the screen to turn completely black.

Pry Off the Rear Cover
1 minInsert a plastic opening tool into the notch near the top edge of the back cover. Gently pry upward to release the water-resistant plastic snaps around the perimeter.

Remove the Battery
1 minLift the battery out of its recess using the notch at the bottom edge. Place the battery on a clean, flat surface.

Remove the MicroSD and SIM Cards
1 minPush the microSD card and SIM card inward until you hear a click, then slide them out of their respective slots.

Remove the Midframe Screws
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 12 screws securing the inner midframe to the display assembly. Store the screws together on a magnetic pad.

Unclip the Midframe Edges
2 minInsert the flat edge of a spudger between the midframe bezel and the display glass near the volume buttons. Pry gently around the outer seam to disengage the retaining clips.

Separate the Midframe from the Frame
1 minCarefully lift the midframe off the front panel assembly. Place the display assembly face-down on a microfiber cloth to prevent scratches.

Pry Out the Speaker Assembly
2 minInsert the tip of a spudger under the loudspeaker module located at the bottom of the midframe. Pry upward to break the light adhesive holding the speaker in place.

Clean the Speaker Housing
1 minUse tweezers to clear any remnant adhesive or dirt from the loudspeaker recess. Ensure the gold spring contacts inside the housing are clean.

Position the New Loudspeaker
1 minAlign the replacement loudspeaker module with the recess on the midframe. Press down firmly to seat the speaker flush into the housing.

Reattach the Midframe
2 minPlace the midframe back over the front screen assembly. Press around all four edges until you hear the clips snap into place.

Secure the Midframe Screws
3 minReinstall the 12 Phillips #00 screws into the midframe in a crisscross pattern until finger-tight.

Reinstall Cards, Battery, and Cover
2 minInsert the SIM and microSD cards into their slots, lower the battery into place, and press the back cover firmly until fully sealed.
