Power Off Phone
1 minPress and hold the Power button, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device shuts down completely before proceeding.

Remove Rear Cover
1 minInsert a plastic opening tool or fingernail into the notch near the power button. Pry the rear cover away from the chassis.

Remove Battery
1 minInsert a fingernail into the recess at the bottom of the battery compartment. Lift the battery up and remove it from the device.

Remove MicroSD and SIM
1 minPush the microSD card inward until it clicks, then pull it out. Slide the micro-SIM card straight out of its slot.

Unscrew Midframe
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 12 screws securing the inner midframe to the phone chassis.

Unclip Midframe Assembly
3 minInsert a spudger between the midframe edge and the glass display. Pry around the outer edge to release the plastic clips and remove the midframe.

Disconnect Daughterboard Cable
1 minUse the flat end of a spudger to pry up the microphone daughterboard flex connector from the motherboard.

Disconnect Antenna Cables
2 minUse tweezers or a spudger to pry the lower ends of the coaxial antenna cables straight up off the daughterboard.

Pry Up Microphone Assembly
2 minInsert a plastic spudger beneath the bottom daughterboard containing the primary microphone and micro-USB port. Carefully pry the board up from the chassis adhesive.

Install Replacement Daughterboard
2 minPosition the new microphone daughterboard into the bottom slot. Press down firmly to seat the microphone and USB port in the frame.

Reconnect Antenna Cables
2 minAlign the antenna coaxial connectors over their sockets on the daughterboard. Gently snap them straight down into place.

Reconnect Daughterboard Cable
1 minAlign the main daughterboard flex cable over its connector on the motherboard and press down until it snaps closed.

Reattach Midframe
2 minPlace the midframe onto the rear of the phone display assembly. Press along the outer perimeter until all plastic tabs snap shut.

Secure Midframe Screws
3 minReinstall the 12 Phillips #00 screws to secure the midframe tightly against the display housing.

Reinsert Cards and Battery
1 minSlide the SIM card and microSD card into their respective slots. Reinsert the battery matching the gold contacts.

Reattach Rear Cover
1 minAlign the back cover over the rear of the device. Press firmly around all edges to properly seal the rubber water-resistance gasket.
