   Power off the phone

   Press and hold the power button until the option menu appears, then tap Power Off to shut down the device.

   Remove the back cover

   Insert a plastic opening tool into the notch at the top of the rear casing and pry the back cover off.

   Remove the battery

   Pry up the battery from the recess near the bottom of the compartment using a plastic spudger.

   Remove the SIM and microSD cards

   Push the SIM card and microSD card inward slightly to release them, then slide both cards out of their slots.

   Remove the midframe screws

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 12 screws securing the plastic midframe to the phone chassis.

   Unclip the midframe

   Insert a plastic opening tool between the outer plastic bezel and the display assembly to disengage the retaining clips around the perimeter.

   Separate the midframe from the chassis

   Gently pull the plastic midframe away from the front panel assembly and set it aside.

   Disconnect the display cable

   Use the flat edge of a spudger to pry the display press-connector straight up from the top motherboard.

   Disconnect the front camera cable

   Pry up the front-facing camera ribbon connector from its socket on the motherboard.

    Disconnect the headphone jack connector

    Use your spudger to disconnect the earpiece speaker and headphone jack press-connector.

    Disconnect the antenna cable

    Use precision tweezers to lift the coaxial antenna cable head off its terminal near the bottom of the motherboard.

    Disconnect the charging port ribbon cable

    Pry up the charging port flex cable press-connector located near the bottom edge of the motherboard.

    Remove the motherboard

    Carefully lift the motherboard up from the bottom edge and lift it out of the front housing.

    Pry up the charging port assembly

    Use a plastic spudger to peel the adhesive-backed charging port flex cable and microphone away from the bottom housing frame.

    Install the replacement charging port assembly

    Align the new charging port flex cable with the alignment pins in the lower housing and press it firmly onto the adhesive.

    Seat the motherboard back into the frame

    Lower the motherboard into the phone body, ensuring no flex cables are trapped beneath it.

    Reconnect all motherboard connectors

    Press down firmly on the charging port, antenna cable, headphone jack, front camera, and display connectors until they click into place.

    Reinstall the midframe and screws

    Snap the plastic midframe back onto the body and tighten the 12 Phillips #00 screws.

    Reinsert cards, battery, and back cover

    Slide the SIM and microSD cards back into their slots, insert the battery, and snap the rear cover sealed onto the frame.
