   Power Off the Device

   Press and hold the Power button on the right side of the device until the power menu appears. Tap Power Off and wait for the screen to turn completely black.

   Position the Phone Face Down

   Place the phone display side down on a clean, soft workspace mat. Ensure the display and camera lens are protected from scratches.

   Locate the Back Cover Release Slot

   Find the small indentation slot located near the top left corner of the rear cover. This notch allows access to pry open the water-sealed panel.

   Insert a Plastic Prying Tool

   Insert the edge of a plastic prying tool into the back cover release slot. Avoid using metal tools to prevent damaging the water-resistance seal.

   Pry Open the Top Edge

   Gently twist the prying tool to release the initial plastic clips along the top left edge of the back cover.

   Unclip the Top Corner

   Slide the plastic prying tool across the top edge of the device to pop the top retaining clips free.

   Unclip the Left Side

   Run the prying tool smoothly down the left seam of the rear panel, disengaging each perimeter clip.

   Unclip the Right Side

   Move the prying tool to the right side of the phone and slide down along the seam to release those clips.

   Release the Bottom Edge Clips

   Slide the tool along the bottom edge of the rear panel to free the remaining perimeter snaps.

    Remove the Rear Cover

    Lift the rear cover straight up away from the phone body and place it face down nearby.

    Inspect the Rubber Gasket

    Examine the orange rubber gasket on the inside of the back cover for dirt or damage. Clean away light debris using isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.

    Locate the Battery Removal Notch

    Find the small recess located at the bottom edge of the battery housing.

    Pry Up the Battery

    Insert a spudger or plastic prying tool into the bottom battery notch. Lift the lower end of the battery up out of its recess.

    Remove the Old Battery

    Grasp the lifted edge of the battery with your fingers and pull it entirely out of the phone.

    Inspect the Metal Contacts

    Check the battery terminal pins inside the upper phone bay for corrosion or dirt. Wipe them carefully with isopropyl alcohol if dirty.

    Align the Replacement Battery

    Position the new battery over the recess so its gold contacts align with the metal pins at the top of the compartment.

    Insert the Top Contact Edge

    Angle the top edge of the battery into the compartment first to make full connection with the gold terminal pins.

    Press down firmly on the bottom half of the battery until it sits completely flat in the compartment.

    Align the rear cover over the back of the phone, ensuring the camera cutout fits over the camera lens module.

    Snap the Edges Shut

    Press firmly along all outer edges of the rear cover until you hear every retaining clip snap securely.

    Seal the Water Resistance Seal

    Apply firm thumb pressure around the center section and near the camera to ensure the water-gasket seal is completely flush.
