Step-by-step

Remove the rear case
1 minInsert a plastic opening tool into the notch near the power button at the top of the rear cover. Pry the cover off the phone frame to expose the battery.

Remove the battery
1 minUse your fingernail or a spudger to lift the battery from the recess at the bottom edge. Lift the battery out of the housing.

Remove the microSD card
1 minPress the microSD card slightly inward until it clicks, then release it. Slide the card out of its slot.

Remove the SIM card
1 minPush the micro-SIM card into the slot until it clicks and releases. Pull the card out completely.

Unscrew the midframe
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the ten 4.0 mm screws securing the midframe to the display panel.

Pry off the plastic midframe
3 minInsert a plastic spudger between the chrome midframe bezel and the front screen assembly. Pry around the perimeter to release the plastic clips and lift away the frame.

Disconnect the front camera
2 minUse the flat end of a spudger to lever the front-facing camera press connector straight up off the motherboard.

Disconnect the display cable
2 minPry the display assembly ribbon cable connector up from its socket on the upper right side of the logic board.

Disconnect the headphone jack assembly
2 minDisconnect the earpiece speaker and headphone jack flex connector located at the top center of the logic board.

Disconnect the coaxial antenna cable
2 minUse precision tweezers to pry the antenna cable connector straight up off its socket near the lower right edge of the board.

Remove the logic board screw
2 minUnscrew the single 3.0 mm Phillips #00 screw holding the logic board to the frame near the top middle area.

Lift out the logic board
3 minGently hold the logic board by the top edges and pivot it upward away from the frame. Pull the board free from the lower chassis assembly.
