Power Down Device

2 minPry up the headphone jack and earpiece speaker assembly flex connector from the top of the motherboard.

1 minRemove the single Phillips #00 screw securing the motherboard to the front housing near the top left.

Lift Out Motherboard
2 minGently lift the motherboard from the bottom edge and remove it completely from the enclosure.

Apply Liquid Flux
2 minApply a small amount of liquid flux across all anchor pads and data pins of the damaged Micro-USB port.

Desolder Damaged Port
8 minHeat the anchor legs and pins using a soldering iron and hot air station, then pull the old port off with tweezers.

Clean Solder Pads
4 minPlace desoldering braid over the pads and apply heat to clean off old solder, leaving flat tinning surface.

Solder Replacement Port
10 minAlign the new Micro-USB port, solder the structural anchor posts first, and carefully solder each individual pin.
