Step-by-step

Power Off the Device
1 minPress and hold the side button and volume down button simultaneously, then select Power Off on the screen.

Eject the SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole at the bottom of the frame and pull out the SIM card tray.

Heat the Back Glass
3 minApply heat along the rear glass edges using a heat gun for two minutes to soften the factory adhesive.

Attach the Suction Cup
2 minPlace a suction cup on the lower third of the back cover and pull upward gently to create a slight gap.

Slice the Rear Adhesive
5 minInsert a thin plastic opening pick into the gap and slowly slide it around the perimeter of the back glass.

Remove the Back Cover
2 minCarefully lift the back cover off the phone frame and place it on a clean surface.

Unscrew the Upper Midframe
4 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the screws holding the wireless charging pad and upper cover in place.

Disconnect the Battery Cable
1 minUse the flat end of a plastic spudger to pry the battery connector directly up from the logic board.

1 minLever the screen flex connector up off the motherboard using your plastic spudger.

Unscrew the Loudspeaker
3 minRemove the Phillips screws securing the bottom speaker assembly to the lower frame.

Lift Out the Loudspeaker
2 minPry up the lower speaker housing with a spudger and remove it from the device.

Heat the Front Display
4 minWarm the entire front display screen evenly with a heat gun for three minutes to weaken the adhesive.

Slice the Display Adhesive
6 minAttach a suction cup to the glass, insert an opening pick along the edge, and carefully cut around the perimeter.

Remove the Damaged Screen
3 minThread the display flex cable through the chassis slot while lifting the old screen away from the frame.

Clean the Frame Edges
5 minScrape away remaining glue and wipe the inner frame ledge using isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.

Apply New Display Adhesive
4 minAlign and press pre-cut screen adhesive strips along the inner perimeter of the aluminum frame.

Install the New Screen
4 minFeed the new display cable through the frame opening and press the screen flat into the frame adhesive.
