   Power Off the Device

   Press and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely shut down before proceeding.

   Heat the Back Glass

   Use a heat gun or hair dryer to warm the edges of the back glass for about two minutes. This softens the factory adhesive holding the panel.

   Apply Suction Cup

   Attach a suction cup to the lower third of the rear panel and gently pull upward to create a slight gap. Insert a plastic opening pick into the gap.

   Slice Back Glass Adhesive

   Slide the opening pick along all four edges of the phone to slice through the perimeter adhesive. Reapply mild heat if the pick meets heavy resistance.

   Remove the Back Cover

   Lift the rear glass cover off the phone frame carefully. Set it aside in a safe, clean space.

   Unscrew the Midframe Shield

   Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the wireless charging coil and upper midframe cover.

   Remove the Midframe Cover

   Insert a spudger under the edge of the midframe cover and lift it out from the main housing.

   Disconnect the Battery

   Use the flat end of a plastic spudger to pry the battery press connector straight up off the motherboard. This prevents electrical shorts during repair.

   Disconnect Volume Flex Cable

   Locate the volume button flex cable connector on the upper frame board edge. Pry it straight up with the point of a spudger.

    Remove Volume Cable Retainer

    Use precision tweezers to detach the small metal retaining bracket holding the volume ribbon in place against the frame.

    Pry Out Damaged Volume Cable

    Slide a thin plastic tool under the volume flex cable to break the adhesive backing inside the frame recess. Lift out the damaged cable.

    Seat New Flex Cable

    Peel any protective film off the replacement volume flex cable adhesive. Align and press the new flex cable into the frame recess.

    Secure Volume Button Retainer

    Reinstall the metal clip over the volume cable assembly using tweezers to lock the flex ribbon into position.

    Plug In Volume Connector

    Align the volume button flex press connector directly over its motherboard socket and press down firmly until it snaps into place.

    Reconnect Battery Cable

    Align the battery connector with its socket and press straight down until it clicks softly.

    Reinstall Midframe Shield

    Position the wireless charging pad and midframe shield over the motherboard. Fasten all Phillips #000 screws securely.

    Apply Replacement Back Adhesive

    Clean remaining adhesive off the frame with isopropyl alcohol, then lay down a pre-cut rear cover adhesive strip along the perimeter.

    Seal the Back Cover

    Align the rear glass cover over the chassis and press along the edges to seal the waterproof adhesive.
