Power Off the Device
1 minPress and hold the Side and Volume Down buttons, then select Power Off on the screen.

Heat the Back Cover
2 minApply heat to the outer edges of the back glass using a heat gun for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back glass and pull upward gently to create a gap.

Insert Opening Pick
1 minSlide a plastic opening pick into the gap between the glass back cover and the aluminum frame.

Slice Back Glass Adhesive
3 minCarefully slide the opening pick around all four edges of the device to sever the internal adhesive seal.

Lift Off the Back Glass
1 minGently lift the back glass panel clear of the chassis and set it aside in a safe location.

Unscrew Wireless Charging Coil
2 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the screws holding down the top wireless charging pad assembly.

Disconnect the Battery Cable
2 minPry up the upper plastic shield cover and use a spudger to disconnect the battery flex cable from the motherboard.

Unscrew Lower Speaker Assembly
2 minRemove the Phillips #000 screws securing the loudspeaker enclosure over the bottom daughterboard.

1 minInsert a spudger beneath the edge of the speaker module and pry it straight up out of the frame.

Disconnect Sub-Board Flex Cables
2 minUse a plastic spudger to detach the main display interconnect cable and ribbon cables from the sub-board.

Remove the Microphone Sub-Board
2 minGently pry up the daughterboard containing the primary bottom microphone from its recessed housing.

Install the New Sub-Board
2 minPosition the replacement microphone sub-board into the lower housing and press down until it sits flat.

Reassemble and Test
5 minReconnect all flex cables, reinstall the speaker and rear covers, apply fresh adhesive, and test microphone function.
