Power off the device
1 minPress and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

Eject the SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole at the bottom frame next to the USB-C port. Press firmly to pop out the tray and remove it.

Heat the rear glass
3 minApply heat to the edges of the rear glass with a heat gun set to 80°C (176°F) for approximately two to three minutes. This softens the factory perimeter adhesive.

Attach the suction cup tool
1 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel. Pull up gently on the suction cup handle to create a tiny gap between the glass and the frame.

Slice the back panel adhesive
4 minInsert a thin plastic pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Carefully slide the pick around all four edges of the back cover to cut the adhesive.

Remove the back glass cover
1 minLift the rear panel straight off the phone frame once all adhesive has been severed. Set the back panel aside on a clean surface.

Unscrew the upper midframe cover
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the 13 screws securing the upper graphite shield and wireless charging coil assembly.

Remove the wireless charging assembly
2 minGently pry up the wireless charging coil and midframe cover using a plastic spudger. Lift the assembly up and out of the device body.

Disconnect the battery cable
1 minLocate the battery press connector on the upper-left section of the motherboard. Use a plastic spudger to pry the connector straight up from its socket.

Disconnect the main interconnect flex cables
2 minUse a spudger to detach the main flex cable connectors linking the top motherboard to the lower sub-board. Remove the loose flex ribbons.

Disconnect the front-facing camera connector
1 minLocate the selfie camera connector at the top center of the logic board. Pry the press connector straight up using a plastic tool.

Disconnect antenna and display flex cables
2 minUnplug the display flex connector and any adjacent 5G antenna board connectors using your spudger tool. Work carefully to avoid snapping delicate PCB traces.

Unscrew the logic board retaining screw
1 minLocate and remove the single Phillips #000 screw holding the logic board to the aluminum chassis frame.

Lift out the logic board
2 minInsert a spudger under the bottom edge of the logic board and gently pry upward. Remove the board from the phone frame once clear of all cables.

Transfer rear cameras and thermal material
4 minUse tweezers to carefully transfer the rear camera modules and thermal interface pads from the old board onto the replacement logic board.
