   Power off the device

   Press and hold the Side and Volume Down buttons, then tap Power Off. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

   Heat the rear glass

   Apply a heated iOpener or heat gun to the edges of the back cover for two minutes to soften the factory glass adhesive.

   Attach the suction cup

   Press a suction cup firmly onto the lower section of the rear glass near the USB-C port.

   Insert an opening pick

   Pull up on the suction cup handle to create a gap and slide a plastic opening pick between the rear glass and frame.

   Slice the bottom adhesive

   Slide the pick carefully along the bottom edge of the phone to cut through the adhesive seal.

   Slice the side adhesive

   Work the pick up the left and right sides of the phone. Reapply heat if the adhesive offers strong resistance.

   Remove the rear glass

   Slice through the adhesive along the top edge and lift the rear glass panel away from the frame.

   Remove motherboard cover screws

   Use a Phillips #00 driver to remove the 13 screws securing the upper motherboard shield and wireless charging coil.

   Detach the wireless charging coil

   Pry up the edges of the wireless charging assembly using a plastic spudger and remove it from the phone.

    Disconnect the battery connector

    Use the edge of a plastic spudger to pop the battery press connector straight up off the motherboard socket.

    Disconnect interconnect cables

    Disconnect the display and main ribbon flex cables bridging the motherboard and sub-board. Bend them away from the battery.

    Apply adhesive remover

    Apply a few drops of high-grade isopropyl alcohol or battery adhesive remover along the top and bottom edges of the battery.

    Insert a plastic pry card

    Slide a plastic opening card under the bottom edge of the battery cell.

    Pry out the old battery

    Gently lever the pry card upward to loosen the adhesive and lift the old battery out of the frame.

    Clean the battery well

    Wipe away residual adhesive from the aluminum battery recess using a lint-free wipe and isopropyl alcohol.

    Apply new battery adhesive

    Peel the backing film from new adhesive strips and lay them evenly inside the battery compartment.

    Install the replacement battery

    Position the new battery into the housing and press firmly down to lock it onto the adhesive.

    Reconnect flex cables

    Press the display, interconnect, and battery flex connectors directly into their motherboard ports until they snap into place.

    Reinstall the motherboard cover

    Set the wireless charging coil back in place and tighten the 13 Phillips #00 screws.

    Reseal the rear panel

    Place new perimeter adhesive on the frame, align the rear glass, and press down around the edges to seal the device.
