   Eject the SIM Card Tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole at the bottom frame edge to release the SIM tray. Pull the tray completely out of the phone.

   Heat the Back Glass

   Apply a heat gun or iOpener around the rear glass edges for two minutes to soften the adhesive underneath. Keep the heat source moving to avoid thermal damage.

   Slice the Glass Adhesive

   Attach a suction handle near the bottom edge and pull up firmly to create a gap. Insert an opening pick into the gap and slide it along the perimeter to slice the adhesive seal.

   Lift Off the Rear Glass

   Gently hinge the rear glass upward from the frame once all edges are freed. Lift the back cover off completely and place it on a clean surface.

   Unscrew the Upper Shield and Wireless Coil

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the six screws securing the upper motherboard shield and wireless charging assembly. Keep the screws grouped together.

   Disconnect and Remove Wireless Coil

   Use a spudger to detach the wireless charging coil press connector from the motherboard. Peel the wireless coil up from the battery and remove it.

   Disconnect the Battery Flex Cable

   Pry the battery press connector straight up from the motherboard socket using a spudger. This cuts power to the device to prevent short circuits.

   Unscrew the Lower Loudspeaker

   Remove the six Phillips #00 screws holding down the lower loudspeaker assembly over the sub-board. Place the screws safely aside.

   Remove the Loudspeaker Assembly

   Insert the flat end of a spudger underneath the loudspeaker module. Carefully lever the housing up to detach it from the phone frame.

    Disconnect Sub-Board Flex Cables

    Use a spudger to snap off the main interconnect flex and display flex connectors from the bottom sub-board. Disconnect any antenna coaxial cables using tweezers.

    Remove the Defective Sub-Board

    Insert a plastic spudger beneath the sub-board containing the primary microphone and charging port. Pry the board straight up from its frame recess.

    Position the Replacement Sub-Board

    Place the new microphone sub-board into the bottom chassis recess. Press down gently around the edges until it sits completely flush.

    Reconnect Sub-Board Cables

    Snap the main interconnect and display flex cables onto the new sub-board sockets. Carefully reattach the coaxial antenna cables with tweezers until they snap into place.

    Reinstall the Loudspeaker Assembly

    Set the loudspeaker module back over the sub-board assembly. Secure it by reinstalling the six Phillips #00 screws.

    Reconnect Battery and Wireless Coil

    Reconnect the main battery flex cable to the motherboard. Reinstall the wireless coil assembly, reconnect its plug, and tighten the six upper screws.

    Reseal the Rear Glass

    Apply a new pre-cut adhesive gasket to the outer frame perimeter. Press the rear glass back into position and apply light pressure to seal the repair.
