Remove the SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the tray at the bottom edge to pop it out. Pull the SIM card tray completely out of the frame.

Heat the back glass perimeter
3 minApply a heat gun or heated pad to the back glass edges for 2 to 3 minutes to soften the rear cover adhesive.

Attach a suction cup to the back cover
2 minPlace a suction cup on the lower third of the back glass. Pull upward firmly to create a small gap between the glass and frame.

Insert an opening pick into the seam
2 minInsert a thin plastic opening pick into the gap created at the bottom edge of the glass.

Slice the back cover adhesive
4 minSlide opening picks around all four edges of the back cover to cut through the perimeter adhesive. Reapply heat if the adhesive hardens.

Remove the rear glass cover
1 minLift the rear glass cover off the phone frame and place it on a clean surface.

Unscrew the wireless charging pad cover
4 minRemove the 13 Phillips #00 screws securing the wireless charging assembly and upper motherboard cover.

Disconnect the wireless charging coil
1 minUse a plastic spudger to disconnect the wireless charging coil press connector from the motherboard.

Peel off the wireless charging assembly
2 minGently peel the wireless charging coil and attached graphite sheet away from the battery and chassis.

1 minPry the battery connector straight up from its motherboard socket using a plastic spudger to cut power.

Unscrew the bottom loudspeaker module
3 minRemove the 6 Phillips #00 screws holding the loudspeaker enclosure at the bottom of the device.

Remove the loudspeaker module
2 minInsert a spudger beneath the loudspeaker edge and pry up to detach it from the phone frame.

Disconnect the main interconnect cables
2 minDisconnect the display and board-to-board interconnect flex cables that overlay the battery.

Apply adhesive remover around the battery
2 minApply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the top and side edges of the battery compartment.

Pull the battery release tab
3 minGrasp the green battery pull tab firmly and pull upward with constant force to break the adhesive bond.

Remove the old battery
1 minLift the depleted battery out of the frame and set it aside for proper recycling.

Install the new battery
