Step-by-step

Power Off the Device
1 minPress and hold the Side and Volume Down buttons, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the phone is completely shut down before starting.

3 minApply a heat gun or hair dryer around the edges of the back cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive. Keep the heat source moving constantly to prevent overheating.

Apply Suction Cup
2 minPress a suction cup firmly onto the lower portion of the back glass. Pull up on the handle to create a small gap between the glass and the frame.

Slice Perimeter Adhesive
5 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap and slide it along the perimeter edges. Cut through all adhesive while reheating as necessary.

Remove the Back Glass
2 minGently lift the rear glass panel away from the chassis and set it aside. Clean off any residual adhesive sticking to the frame with isopropyl alcohol.

Unbolt the Wireless Charging Assembly
4 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the plastic upper midframe and wireless charging pad.

Detach Wireless Charging Pad
3 minPeel back the lower microphone ribbon cover tape attached to the coil housing. Pry up and lift the wireless charging frame out of the device.

Disconnect the Battery
1 minUse the flat end of a plastic spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from its motherboard socket. This prevents short circuits during repair.

Unplug Power Button Connector
2 minLocate the side button press connector on the right side of the motherboard. Carefully pry it up using your spudger.

Pry Out Power Button Flex
3 minInsert fine tweezers under the power/volume button flex cable to separate its light adhesive backing from the inner frame ledge.

Install New Power Button Flex
3 minAlign the replacement power button flex cable into the frame groove and press down lightly to adhere it into place.

Reconnect Power Button Cable
2 minAlign the flex connector with its socket on the motherboard and press down until it snaps firmly into position.

Reconnect the Battery Cable
1 minAlign the battery press connector over its motherboard socket and press down to re-engage power.

Reinstall Wireless Charging Assembly
4 minPosition the wireless charging midframe over the phone and reinstall the Phillips #000 screws until snug.

Reseal the Back Glass
4 minApply new custom adhesive tape along the rear frame perimeter, align the back glass, and press firmly around all edges to secure it.
