Power off the device

2 minApply a heat gun or hair dryer to the bottom edge of the back panel for two minutes. This softens the adhesive holding the back glass to the frame.

Attach suction handle
1 minPlace a suction cup on the lower third of the back glass and pull upward gently. Create a small gap between the glass and the metal frame.

Insert opening pick
1 minSlide a thin plastic opening pick into the seam under the back glass. Leave the pick in place to prevent the adhesive from resealing.

Slice back panel adhesive
3 minSlide additional picks around the remaining perimeter to cut through all rear adhesive. Take care around the camera module to avoid damaging internal components.

Lift off rear panel
2 minGently lift the back glass off the chassis and set it aside. Clean off any residual adhesive sticking to the phone frame using high-concentration isopropyl alcohol.

Unscrew wireless charging coil
2 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the five screws holding the wireless charging pad and upper shield. Keep the screws organized for reassembly.

Remove wireless charging module
2 minPry up the wireless charging coil assembly starting from the right side. Peel the coil back and remove it from the device.

Disconnect the battery

Unscrew lower speaker assembly
2 minRemove the six Phillips #00 screws holding the loudspeaker assembly at the bottom of the phone. Store these screws separately from upper frame screws.

Disconnect daughterboard flex cables
2 minUse a spudger to disconnect the display and main interconnect flex cables from the lower daughterboard. Remove the SIM card tray using an eject tool.

Remove microphone daughterboard
2 minUnscrew the single Phillips #00 screw securing the daughterboard to the frame. Gently pry up the board containing the primary microphone and remove it.

Install replacement daughterboard
3 minPlace the new microphone daughterboard into the lower housing recess and press it flush. Secure it with the single screw and reconnect all ribbon cables.
