Overview
Step-by-step
- 1
Eject the SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the USB-C port to release the tray. Pull the SIM tray completely out of the phone.
- 2
Heat the Rear Glass
3 minApply a heat gun or hairdryer along the outer edges of the back panel for two to three minutes. This softens the internal adhesive securing the back cover.
- 3
Slice Rear Panel Adhesive
5 minPlace a suction cup on the lower portion of the back cover and pull upward to create a small gap. Insert an opening pick into the seam and slide it around the perimeter to slice through the adhesive.
- 4
Remove the Rear Glass
2 minLift the rear glass panel away from the phone body. Set it aside on a clean workspace.
- 5
Unscrew Wireless Charging Bracket
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 14 screws holding down the top speaker housing and wireless charging pad.
- 6
Remove Wireless Charging Coil
2 minUse a plastic spudger to unclip the wireless charging coil assembly from the frame. Carefully peel it off and set it aside.
- 7
Disconnect the Battery Cable
1 minPry the battery press-connector straight up from its motherboard socket using a plastic spudger. This prevents electrical shorts during the repair.
- 8
Disconnect Interconnect Flex Cables
2 minUse the edge of a plastic spudger to pop up the main and secondary interconnect cable connectors from the logic board.
- 9
Disconnect Display Cable
1 minPry the display flex cable connector off its socket on the right side of the logic board.
- 10
Disconnect 5G Antenna Cables
2 minDisconnect the two mmWave 5G antenna flex cables from their board sockets using a spudger.
- 11
Disconnect Front Camera
1 minPry the front-facing camera flex connector straight up to detach it from the main board.
- 12
Remove Logic Board Screw
1 minRemove the single Phillips #00 screw securing the bottom-left corner of the logic board to the frame.
- 13
Remove the Logic Board
2 minInsert a plastic spudger beneath the bottom edge of the logic board and gently lift it out of the chassis. Hold the board by its edges to avoid static damage.
- 14
Transfer Front Camera to New Board
2 minLift the front camera module out of the old motherboard recess using tweezers and transfer it to the replacement logic board.
- 15
Install the Replacement Logic Board
2 minLower the new logic board into the phone frame top-first, ensuring camera cutouts align perfectly before pressing it into place.
