Step-by-step

Power Off Phone
1 minPress and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons until the power menu appears. Tap Power Off to shut down the device completely.

Disconnect Volume Button Flex
1 minLocate the volume button ZIF connector or press connector on the motherboard and disconnect it carefully using a spudger.

Peel Volume Flex Cable
2 minApply a drop of isopropyl alcohol under the flex cable adhesive, then gently pry up the volume button flex ribbon with precision tweezers.

Remove Physical Volume Key
2 minUse tweezers to release the metal retaining clip inside the button cavity and push the physical volume key out from the frame.

Install New Volume Assembly
2 minInsert the replacement physical key into the frame slot and press the new flex cable adhesive backing flush against the inner side wall.
