   Power off the phone

   Press and hold the Side key and Volume Down button simultaneously, then tap Power Off on the screen.

   Heat the back cover

   Apply heat evenly to the edges of the back glass using a heat gun on low for 2 to 3 minutes to soften the adhesive.

   Attach a suction cup

   Place a suction cup on the lower third of the back glass and pull up firmly to create a small gap.

   Insert an opening pick

   Slide a thin plastic opening pick into the gap between the glass back cover and the aluminum frame.

   Slice the perimeter adhesive

   Slide the pick around all four edges of the device to cut through the foam adhesive seal.

   Remove the back glass

   Gently lift the back glass away from the frame and set it aside on a clean surface.

   Unscrew the midframe cover

   Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the 12 screws securing the upper wireless charging coil and speaker bracket.

   Remove the wireless charging assembly

   Pry up the edge of the wireless charging pad and lift the plastic shield out of the phone.

   Disconnect the battery

   Use a plastic spudger to gently pop the battery press connector off the motherboard socket.

    Disconnect the side button flex

    Unplug the power and volume button ribbon cable press connector from the motherboard.

    Unscrew the button retaining bracket

    Remove the single Phillips #000 screw holding the metal power button bracket against the inner frame.

    Remove the metal button bracket

    Use precision tweezers to lift the small metal retaining bracket out from inside the frame recess.

    Pry out the damaged power button flex

    Insert a flat plastic tool under the power button flex cable and carefully peel it off the frame adhesive.

    Install the new power button flex

    Align the replacement power button flex cable pins into the frame cutout and press down firmly.

    Reinstall the metal button bracket

    Position the metal retaining bracket over the flex cable and tighten the retaining screw.

    Reconnect the button flex cable

    Align and press the side button flex connector down onto its terminal on the motherboard until it clicks.

    Reconnect the battery cable

    Align the battery press connector over its motherboard terminal and snap it back into place.

    Reinstall the midframe assembly

    Place the wireless charging pad and midframe cover back on the device and secure it with the 12 Phillips #000 screws.

    Apply new back cover adhesive

    Clean the perimeter of the frame with isopropyl alcohol and lay down a new pre-cut adhesive gasket.

    Reattach the back glass

    Align the back glass with the frame and press firmly along all edges to seal the phone.
