Step-by-step

Eject the SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the bottom frame to pop out the SIM card tray. Remove the tray completely.

Heat the Rear Glass
2 minApply a heat gun along the outer edges of the back cover for two minutes to soften the factory adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPress a suction cup onto the lower third of the rear panel and gently pull upward to form a thin gap.

Slice Rear Adhesive
3 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap and slide it along the perimeter to slice through the adhesive seal.

Remove Rear Panel
2 minGently lift the back cover straight off the chassis and place it flat on your workspace.

Unscrew Lower Frame
2 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the lower speaker housing to the frame.

1 minInsert a spudger under the notch of the lower speaker assembly and pry it up and out of the phone.

Disconnect Battery Flex
1 minUse the edge of a plastic spudger to pry the main battery connector straight up from its motherboard socket.

Disconnect Interconnect Cables
2 minUnplug the display and main interconnect ribbon cables from the lower daughterboard using a spudger.

Unclip Coaxial Antennas
2 minUse tweezers to carefully lift and disconnect the antenna coaxial cables from the lower board.

Unscrew Daughterboard
1 minRemove the single Phillips #000 screw holding the USB daughterboard and microphone housing in place.

Extract Microphone Assembly
2 minPry up the daughterboard containing the primary microphone and lift it out of the bottom cavity.

Install Replacement Board
2 minAlign the new daughterboard with integrated primary microphone into the bottom frame and press it firmly into position.
