   Power off the phone

   Press and hold the side and volume down buttons until the power menu appears. Tap Power Off to safely shut down the device.

   Heat the back glass

   Apply heat to the edges of the rear glass cover for two minutes using a heat gun or iOpener. This softens the strong factory adhesive beneath the glass.

   Attach the suction handle

   Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the rear glass cover. Press down firmly to create a tight seal.

   Create an entry gap

   Pull up on the suction handle to create a small gap between the glass and the body frame. Insert an opening pick into the gap.

   Slice the perimeter adhesive

   Slide the opening pick around all four edges of the phone to cut through the adhesive seal. Reapply heat if the pick meets resistance.

   Remove the back glass

   Gently lift the back glass off the frame. Set it aside on a clean, scratch-free microfiber surface.

   Unscrew the upper motherboard cover

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the five screws securing the upper plastic cover and wireless charging pad. Keep the screws organized.

   Remove the wireless charging coil

   Gently pry up the edges of the wireless charging coil module with a spudger. Lift and remove the assembly from the device.

   Disconnect the battery cable

   Use the flat end of a spudger to pry the battery press connector straight up from its socket. This cuts power to prevent electrical shorts.

    Unscrew the lower loudspeaker

    Remove the five Phillips #00 screws holding the loudspeaker assembly over the daughterboard at the bottom. Separate these from other screws.

    Remove the loudspeaker

    Insert a spudger beneath the loudspeaker housing and pry upward to unclip it. Remove the module from the frame.

    Eject the SIM tray

    Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole at the bottom frame next to the SIM slot. Press firmly to pop out and remove the tray.

    Disconnect the ribbon cables

    Pry up the press connectors for the main display flex cable and interconnect cable on the daughterboard. Bend the cables back slightly.

    Unscrew the daughterboard

    Remove the single Phillips #00 screw holding the daughterboard down to the bottom chassis. Set the screw aside.

    Remove the old microphone board

    Insert a spudger under the edge of the daughterboard and gently pry it up from the chassis adhesive. Lift out the board containing the microphone.

    Install the new microphone board

    Align the replacement daughterboard over the bottom well and press down gently until it sits flush. Ensure the microphone port aligns with the frame opening.
