Step-by-step

Power down the Galaxy S21 Plus
1 minPress and hold the Side and Volume Down buttons simultaneously, then tap Power Off on the screen.

Heat the rear glass perimeter
3 minApply a heat gun evenly along the outer edges of the rear glass cover for two minutes to soften the internal adhesive.

Slice the rear cover adhesive
5 minAttach a suction cup near the bottom edge, pull upward to create a gap, and insert a plastic pick to cut through the adhesive along all sides.

Lift off the back cover
2 minCarefully lift the rear glass panel away from the frame and set it aside on a clean surface.

Unscrew the wireless charging coil frame
4 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the 13 screws securing the upper wireless charging pad and midframe shield.

Detach the wireless charging pad
2 minUse a spudger to pry up the wireless charging coil assembly, starting from the right side, and lift it clear of the device.

Disconnect the battery flex cable
1 minUse the edge of a plastic spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from its socket on the motherboard.

Disconnect the main interconnect flex cables
2 minPry up the display flex cable connector and both main interconnect ribbon cable press connectors from the logic board.

Disconnect the front-facing camera
2 minGently pop the selfie camera press connector off the top of the logic board.

Remove the motherboard retaining screw
2 minRemove the single Phillips #000 screw holding the upper section of the logic board to the inner frame.

Lift out the damaged logic board
3 minInsert a spudger beneath the bottom edge of the board and carefully tilt it up to remove it from the phone chassis.

Position the new logic board
3 minAlign the replacement logic board with the housing cutouts and press it gently into place until flush.
