   Eject SIM Tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole near the bottom edge of the phone to pop out the SIM tray. Remove the SIM tray completely from the device.

   Heat Rear Cover

   Apply a heat gun or heated iOpener to the edges of the back cover for two minutes. This softens the strong adhesive holding the plastic rear panel.

   Insert Opening Pick

   Press a suction handle near the bottom edge of the rear panel and pull up to create a small gap. Insert a thin opening pick under the plastic back cover.

   Slice Rear Adhesive

   Slide the opening pick around the perimeter of the phone to slice through the adhesive strips. Leave picks in place to prevent the adhesive from resealing.

   Remove Back Cover

   Carefully lift the rear cover away from the frame chassis. Set the back panel aside in a clean area.

   Unscrew Upper Midframe

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 14 screws securing the upper midframe and wireless charging coil assembly.

   Remove Wireless Charging Coil

   Gently peel up the black wireless charging pad and lift the plastic upper midframe off the chassis.

   Disconnect Battery Cable

   Use the flat end of a plastic spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from its socket on the logic board.

   Disconnect Display Flex Cable

   Pry up the display flex cable connector located near the center of the main logic board using a spudger.

    Disconnect Interconnect Cables

    Disconnect the two main board-to-board flex cables that link the logic board to the lower charging assembly.

    Disconnect Camera Modules

    Unplug the rear camera press-connectors and the front selfie camera connector from the top side of the logic board.

    Remove Board Retaining Screw

    Unscrew the single Phillips screw holding the logic board down to the phone housing near the top left corner.

    Remove Logic Board

    Gently lift the logic board up from the top edge and remove it from the frame chassis. Hold the board only by its edges to prevent static damage.

    Inspect Micro-Soldered Components

    Use a magnifying glass to check for cracked solder joints or burnt components. Use flux and a soldering iron with desoldering braid to re-flow damaged trace connections.

    Install Logic Board

    Position the repaired or replacement logic board into the upper section of the phone chassis at a slight angle and press it down flush.

    Fasten Logic Board

    Reinstall the single Phillips retaining screw to lock the logic board securely into place.

    Reconnect Flex Cables

    Attach all camera connectors, interconnect cables, and the display flex cable to their respective sockets on the board.

    Reconnect Battery and Reseal

    Snap the battery press-connector back in place, reattach the upper midframe with screws, and apply fresh adhesive before pressing the back panel shut.
