   Power off the phone

   Press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before proceeding.

   Heat the rear cover

   Apply a heat gun or iOpener to the bottom edge of the back glass for two minutes. This softens the adhesive securing the back cover.

   Apply a suction cup

   Press a suction cup firmly onto the lower portion of the rear glass near the charging port. Pull up gently to create a thin gap between the glass and the frame.

   Insert an opening pick

   Insert a thin plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Do not insert the pick more than 5 mm to avoid damaging internal ribbons.

   Slice the perimeter adhesive

   Slide the pick around all four edges of the phone to cut through the remaining adhesive. Reapply heat if the adhesive becomes resistant.

   Remove the rear glass

   Carefully lift the rear glass panel away from the chassis. Set the back glass aside on a clean work surface.

   Unscrew the wireless charging coil

   Use a precision Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the five screws securing the upper antenna and wireless charging coil assembly.

   Remove the wireless charging assembly

   Pry up the edges of the wireless charging pad using a spudger. Peel the pad and attached NFC assembly off the motherboard and battery.

   Disconnect the battery

   Use the flat end of a plastic spudger to pry the battery press connector straight up from its motherboard socket. This cuts power to the device.

    Unscrew the loudspeaker

    Remove the five Phillips #00 screws holding the loudspeaker module in place at the bottom of the phone frame.

    Remove the loudspeaker

    Insert a spudger under the top edge of the loudspeaker housing and pry upward to remove the module, exposing the primary microphone daughterboard.

    Disconnect flex cables

    Use a plastic opening tool to disconnect the display flex cable and the main interconnect cable press connectors from the daughterboard.

    Remove the daughterboard screw

    Unscrew the single Phillips #00 screw securing the daughterboard assembly to the bottom of the enclosure.

    Remove the microphone daughterboard

    Use tweezers to carefully lift the daughterboard containing the primary microphone out of the frame recess.

    Insert the new microphone daughterboard

    Place the replacement daughterboard into the bottom chassis recess and gently press it flush into position.

    Reconnect the flex cables

    Align and press down on the main interconnect and display flex connectors until they snap firmly onto the new daughterboard.

    Reinstall speaker and wireless coil

    Reconnect the battery, snap the loudspeaker and wireless coil back into position, and reinstall all ten Phillips #00 screws.

    Secure rear glass with new adhesive

    Apply custom cut adhesive strips to the inner frame, align the rear glass cover, and press firmly along the perimeter to seal.
