Step-by-step

Power off the phone and remove SIM tray
1 minTurn off your Galaxy S20 completely. Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the top edge to eject the SIM and microSD card tray.

Disconnect the battery flex cable
1 minUse the flat end of a plastic spudger to snap the battery connector straight up from the motherboard.

Disconnect main display and lower interconnect cables
2 minUse your spudger to pry up the display flex connector and the main interconnect cable connectors from the bottom edge of the board.

Disconnect antenna and sensor connectors
3 minDisconnect the 5G antenna modules and coaxial antenna cables attached near the sides of the board using tweezers or a spudger.

Remove the motherboard retaining screw
1 minUnscrew the single Phillips #000 screw securing the logic board to the inner frame near the top right corner.

Lift and remove the logic board
3 minGently lift the top edge of the motherboard out of the frame. Pivot it upward and pull it free, ensuring no flex cables snag.

Transfer heat pads and camera brackets
3 minTransfer any thermal interface pads or bracket components from the old board to the new replacement board.

Seat the new motherboard
2 minLower the new logic board bottom-first into the frame recess and verify that all underlying flex cables remain clear.
