Power Off Phone
1 minPress and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons, then tap Power Off to shut down the device completely.

Remove SIM Card Tray

Heat Rear Glass
3 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer on medium setting to heat the outer edges of the back glass for 2 to 3 minutes.

Attach Suction Cup
2 minPlace a suction cup on the lower third of the rear glass and gently pull upward to create a small gap.

Insert Opening Pick
2 minSlide a thin plastic opening pick into the seam created between the rear glass and the aluminum frame.

Slice Perimeter Adhesive
5 minMove the pick carefully along all four sides of the phone to cut through the factory adhesive.

Lift Off Rear Glass
2 minGently lift the back glass clear of the frame and set it aside on a clean surface.

Unscrew Upper Midframe
3 minRemove the five Phillips #000 screws securing the upper motherboard bracket and wireless charging pad.

2 minPry up the edges of the wireless charging assembly and lift it out of the chassis.

3 minRemove the five Phillips #000 screws holding the bottom loudspeaker assembly in place.

2 minInsert a spudger under the loudspeaker edge and pop the module up away from the bottom sub-board.

Disconnect Sensor Ribbon Cable
2 minLocate the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor flex connector on the sub-board and detach it using a plastic spudger.

Warm Lower Screen Area
2 minApply heat to the bottom portion of the front display screen for 1 minute to loosen sensor adhesive beneath.

Pry Out Fingerprint Sensor
4 minUse fine-tip tweezers and a flat spudger to carefully unseat the fingerprint sensor module from the display frame.

Position New Sensor
3 minAlign the replacement fingerprint sensor into the screen bracket cavity and press down gently to secure it.

Connect Sensor Cable
2 minSnap the fingerprint sensor flex cable firmly onto its socket on the daughterboard.

Reinstall Loudspeaker Assembly
3 minSet the loudspeaker back into position and tighten the five Phillips #000 screws.

4 minAttach the battery flex connector, place the wireless charging coil over the motherboard, and secure its screws.
