   Power off the device

   Press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons, then tap Power Off on the screen.

   Eject the SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole at the top edge of the phone to pop out the tray.

   Heat the rear glass edges

   Apply a heat gun or heated iOpener around the rear glass perimeter for two minutes to soften the underlying adhesive.

   Attach suction cup

   Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back cover glass and pull upward gently to create a gap.

   Slice the bottom adhesive

   Insert an opening pick into the gap created at the bottom edge and slide it side to side.

   Slice the side adhesive

   Slide the pick carefully around the left and right corners, avoiding deep insertion near the camera assembly.

   Remove the rear glass

   Lift the rear glass cover free from the chassis and place it face down on a clean surface.

   Unscrew the wireless charging pad

   Remove the five Phillips #00 screws securing the wireless charging coil and speaker bracket assembly.

   Detach the wireless charging coil

   Gently peel the wireless charging coil and NFC antenna assembly up and away from the battery cover.

    Use tweezers to lift and remove the metal motherboard shield from the frame.

    Pry the display flex cable connector straight up from its motherboard socket using a plastic spudger.

    Drop a small amount of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the upper and lower edges of the battery well.

    Wait for adhesive to soften

    Allow the alcohol to sit for two minutes to dissolve the tough factory glue beneath the cell.

    Pry up the battery

    Insert a plastic opening card under the battery edge and gently lever it upward.

    Remove the battery

    Lift the old battery out of the frame recess and set it aside for proper recycling.

    Clean the battery cavity

    Wipe down the aluminum battery cavity with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth to clear remaining residue.

    Peel the protective film from new double-sided adhesive strips and lay them flat inside the battery compartment.

    Align the replacement battery into the cavity and press down firmly across its surface to set the glue.

    Press the display flex and main interconnect cables firmly back onto their motherboard sockets.
