Step-by-step

Heat the rear cover
3 minApply a heated iOpener or heat gun around the back glass edges for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach suction cup
2 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the rear glass and pull upward gently to create a gap.

Insert opening pick
2 minSlide an opening pick into the seam under the rear glass once a gap appears.

Slice perimeter adhesive

Lift off rear glass

Transfer microphone rubber boot
2 minRemove the rubber microphone seal from the old board and place it onto the new replacement board.

Seat replacement daughterboard
2 minAlign the new daughterboard into the frame recess and press down gently to secure it.

Reconnect flex and antenna cables
3 minAttach the display connector, main interconnect flex, and antenna coax cables back onto the sub-board.

Reinstall speaker and wireless coil
4 minPress the speaker module and wireless coil back into position, then reinstall the 15 Phillips screws.

Reseal rear glass
4 minApply new pre-cut adhesive to the perimeter of the frame and press the back cover tightly into place.
