   Power off the phone

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before beginning.

   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole at the top edge of the frame. Push firmly to pop the tray out and remove it.

   Heat the rear glass

   Apply a heated iOpener or heat gun to the edges of the back cover for two minutes. This softens the strong waterproof adhesive securing the glass panel.

   Attach a suction cup

   Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the rear glass above the charging port. Pull upward firmly on the ring to create a small gap.

   Insert an opening pick

   Insert the tip of a plastic opening pick into the gap created beneath the glass. Do not push the pick deeper than 5mm to avoid damaging internal ribbons.

   Slice perimeter adhesive

   Slide the opening pick around the entire outer boundary of the back glass. Reapply heat if the pick meets high resistance.

   Remove rear cover

   Lift the rear glass panel away from the chassis once all adhesive is severed. Set the glass safely aside on a clean surface.

   Unscrew upper motherboard bracket

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the five 4.0mm screws securing the top plastic cover and wireless charging pad.

   Detach wireless charging coil

   Use tweezers to unclip the wireless charging pad press connector from the motherboard. Carefully peel the soft pad assembly away from the frame.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Pry the battery press connector straight up from its motherboard socket using the flat end of a spudger. Disconnecting power prevents short circuits.

    Unscrew lower loudspeaker module

    Remove the five Phillips #00 screws holding the loudspeaker assembly over the bottom USB port area.

    Remove loudspeaker assembly

    Insert the point of a spudger under the edge of the loudspeaker unit and pry up. Lift the module out of the phone body.

    Disconnect display extension cable

    Pry up the flex connector for the display extension cable attached near the bottom of the motherboard. Use a plastic spudger to prevent shorts.

    Disconnect main interconnect cable

    Disconnect both press connectors on the main ribbon cable that overlays the battery. Lift the loose cable off the device entirely.

    Apply adhesive remover

    Dispense a few drops of high-purity isopropyl alcohol into the gaps around the top and bottom edges of the battery cavity.

    Soak internal glue

    Allow the solvent to sit for 2-3 minutes. The chemical action loosens the strong factory tape underneath the battery cell.

    Pry up the battery

    Insert a flat plastic opening card or spudger along the outer edge of the battery pouch. Apply steady upward lever force to loosen it.

    Remove old battery

    Lift the swollen or degraded battery out of the chassis tray. Place it safely in a fireproof container for hazardous chemical recycling.

    Clean battery recess

    Scrape leftover tape residue from the frame recess using a plastic tool and isopropyl alcohol. Ensure the housing tray is dry and smooth.

    Apply battery adhesive strips

    Peel the backing paper off double-sided battery adhesive strips and lay them flat inside the clear frame cavity. Peel off the top protective layer.

    Install replacement battery

    Lower the new battery into the cavity while carefully aligning its flex ribbon toward the motherboard socket. Press down firmly to stick the cell down.

    Reconnect ribbon cables

    Align and snap the display extension ribbon and main interconnect flex cables onto their respective sockets until they click.

    Reinstall loudspeaker module

    Place the loudspeaker component back into the lower frame. Fasten the five reserved Phillips screws firmly.

    Reinstall wireless charging plate

    Reattach the wireless charging pad connector to the motherboard and lay the upper bracket flush. Secure it using five Phillips screws.

    Apply back glass adhesive seal

    Position a pre-cut rear glass replacement adhesive gasket around the frame outer lip. Peel off the clear protective top film.

    Seal rear glass panel

    Press the rear glass back onto the chassis frame carefully. Apply firm, even pressure along all outer edges to set the sticky seal.
