Overview
Step-by-step
- 1
Power Off the Galaxy S20 FE
1 minPress and hold the power and volume down buttons, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before opening.
- 2
Heat the Back Cover Edges
2 minApply a heat gun or hair dryer around the perimeter of the rear cover for two minutes. This softens the adhesive securing the plastic back panel.
- 3
Apply a Suction Cup
1 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the rear panel and press firmly to seal. Pull upward gently to create a slight gap between the cover and frame.
- 4
Slice the Rear Cover Adhesive
3 minInsert an opening pick into the gap created at the bottom edge. Slide the pick around all four sides of the rear cover to cut through the perimeter tape.
- 5
Remove the Rear Plastic Cover
1 minLift the rear cover straight off the chassis once all adhesive is severed. Set the back panel aside on a clean surface.
- 6
Unscrew the Upper Midframe
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the 10 screws securing the plastic upper midframe and wireless charging pad.
- 7
Remove the Wireless Charging Coil
2 minInsert a spudger under the top edge of the wireless charging assembly. Gently peel the pad away from the battery and set it aside.
- 8
Disconnect the Battery Cable
1 minPry the battery press connector straight up from its motherboard socket using the flat end of a spudger. This cuts power to prevent electrical damage.
- 9
Unscrew the Loudspeaker Module
2 minRemove the 7 Phillips #000 screws holding the loudspeaker housing to the bottom sub-board area.
- 10
Pry Out the Loudspeaker Module
2 minInsert a spudger beneath the top edge of the loudspeaker assembly. Pry upward to unlatch the plastic module from the frame clips and remove it.
- 11
Install the Replacement Loudspeaker
2 minAlign the new loudspeaker module with the bottom sub-board alignment pins. Press down firmly until the assembly sits flush in the lower frame recess.
- 12
Secure the Loudspeaker Screws
2 minReinstall the 7 Phillips #000 screws into the loudspeaker module until snug. Do not overtighten to avoid stripping plastic threads.
- 13
Reconnect the Battery Cable
1 minPosition the battery press connector over the motherboard socket and press down firmly until it snaps into place.
- 14
Secure the Wireless Charging Frame
3 minReposition the upper midframe and wireless charging pad over the motherboard. Reinstall the 10 Phillips #000 screws to fasten the assembly.
