   Power off the phone

   Press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

   Remove the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool or paperclip into the small hole on the top edge of the frame. Press firmly to pop out the tray and remove it.

   Heat the back cover

   Apply a heat gun or hair dryer along the edges of the plastic back cover for 2 minutes. This softens the adhesive holding the rear panel in place.

   Slice the rear adhesive

   Press a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel and pull up to create a small gap. Insert a plastic opening pick and slide it around the perimeter to cut the adhesive.

   Remove the back panel

   Lift the rear plastic cover away from the chassis once all adhesive strips are detached. Set the back panel aside.

   Unscrew the motherboard bracket

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 15 screws securing the wireless charging coil cover and lower loudspeaker assembly.

   Detach the wireless charging coil

   Gently pry up the wireless charging pad and upper plastic motherboard cover from the frame. Set the entire module aside.

   Remove the loudspeaker housing

   Use a flat spudger to pry the lower speaker assembly up from the sub-board housing. Lift and remove it from the device.

   Disconnect the battery flex

   Use the pointed end of a plastic spudger to pop the battery connector straight up off its motherboard socket. This prevents electrical shorts.

    Disconnect the sub-board flex cables

    Unclip the main display flex cable and the interconnect ribbon cable from the sub-board at the bottom of the device.

    Disconnect the fingerprint sensor flex

    Locate the small fingerprint sensor ribbon cable attached to the sub-board. Use a spudger to carefully unclip its press connector.

    Remove the fingerprint sensor module

    Insert tweezers or a thin prying tool under the optical fingerprint sensor situated in the lower frame recess. Lift the sensor module clear of the frame.

    Install the new fingerprint sensor

    Align the replacement fingerprint sensor into the recess beneath the display area. Press down gently until it sits completely flat.

    Reconnect the sensor and sub-board cables

    Snap the fingerprint sensor flex back onto the sub-board connector, followed by the interconnect and display flex cables.

    Reconnect the battery cable

    Align the battery ribbon connector over its motherboard socket and press straight down until it clicks into place.

    Reinstall loudspeaker and motherboard brackets

    Position the lower speaker and upper motherboard cover over the frame. Secure them using the 15 Phillips #00 screws removed earlier.

    Seal the back cover

    Apply new pre-cut adhesive along the rear frame edges, align the back cover, and press firmly along all sides to secure the seal.
