Power Off Phone
1 minPress and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons, then select Power Off on the screen.

Remove SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole at the top edge of the frame to eject the SIM tray.

Heat Back Cover
2 minApply a heat gun or hairdryer along the outer edges of the rear panel for 2 minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPress a suction cup firmly onto the lower third of the rear glass cover.

Create Edge Seam
2 minPull upward on the suction cup while inserting a thin plastic prying tool under the bottom edge seam.

Slice Rear Adhesive
3 minSlide plastic picks around all four edges of the back panel to fully sever the factory adhesive.

Remove Rear Panel
1 minLift the rear plastic cover straight off the frame and set it aside.

Unscrew Motherboard Cover
3 minRemove the 15 Phillips #00 screws securing the upper motherboard shield and wireless charging pad assembly.

2 minPry up the edge of the plastic motherboard cover and peel off the attached wireless charging coil.

Disconnect Battery Cable
1 minUse a plastic spudger to pop the battery flex connector straight up from its motherboard socket.

2 minRemove the 6 Phillips #00 screws holding down the bottom loudspeaker housing.

1 minInsert your spudger beneath the top edge of the speaker module and lift it out of the frame.

Disconnect Main Flex Cable
2 minPry up the main interconnect extension cable connectors from both the motherboard and lower sub-board.

Disconnect Display Cable
1 minUnplug the display ribbon cable connector near the bottom of the motherboard using a spudger.

Apply Isopropyl Alcohol
2 minApply a few drops of 99% isopropyl alcohol around the edges of the battery well to weaken the glue.

Pry Out Battery
3 minInsert a flat plastic spudger under the side of the battery and carefully lever it up from the frame.

Clean Battery Well
2 minWipe away residual battery adhesive inside the frame cavity using isopropyl alcohol and a clean cloth.

Install New Battery Adhesive
2 minPlace pre-cut battery adhesive strips into the recessed cavity of the phone midframe.

1 minLower the new battery into the cavity and press down firmly to secure it to the adhesive.

Reconnect Board Cables
2 minSnap the display, interconnect, and battery flex cables firmly back onto their motherboard sockets.

4 minPosition the speaker assembly and motherboard shield, then reinstall all 21 Phillips screws.
