   Eject SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole at the top of the device to pop out the tray. Remove the SIM and microSD card tray completely.

   Heat rear glass panel

   Apply heat to the edges of the rear glass using a heat gun set to low for 2-3 minutes. This softens the factory perimeter adhesive.

   Slice rear glass adhesive

   Attach a suction cup to the lower back glass and pull up to create a small gap. Insert a plastic opening pick and carefully slide it around the perimeter to cut the adhesive.

   Remove rear cover

   Lift the rear glass panel away from the phone body once all adhesive is separated. Set the back glass aside on a clean surface.

   Unscrew midframe Phillips screws

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 15 screws securing the upper motherboard shield and lower speaker assembly.

   Pry off wireless charging pad

   Use a spudger to gently pry up the plastic midframe section housing the wireless charging coil. Lift and remove it from the device.

   Disconnect battery cable

   Locate the battery flex cable connector near the right edge of the motherboard. Use a plastic spudger to pry the connector straight up and disconnect power.

   Disconnect display and sub-board flex cables

   Pry up the display connector, front-facing camera connector, and lower daughterboard flex connectors using the flat end of a spudger.

   Extract main motherboard

   Carefully tilt the top of the motherboard out of the frame and lift it out completely. Ensure no cables snag on the board during removal.

    Scrub motherboard with isopropyl alcohol

    Submerge a soft brush in 99% isopropyl alcohol and gently scrub all liquid indicator areas and corroded components on the motherboard. Pay close attention to connectors and IC chips.

    Remove battery

    Apply a few drops of 99% isopropyl alcohol around the battery edges to dissolve adhesive. Use a plastic card or wide pry tool to lift the battery out from the frame.

    Clean lower daughterboard and frame

    Scrub the USB-C charging port sub-board and internal frame recess with the alcohol-soaked brush to clear out mineral deposits and oxidation.

    Dry all components

    Use compressed air to blow away remaining isopropyl alcohol and dislodged corrosion from all components. Allow parts to air-dry completely for 15 minutes.

    Reinstall motherboard and connect display

    Set the motherboard back into the frame recess top-first. Reconnect the display, front camera, and daughterboard flex cables by pressing them down until they click.

    Reconnect battery and reattach midframe

    Press the battery back into place, reconnect its flex cable, and align the plastic midframe over the top assembly. Secure all 15 Phillips screws.

    Seal rear glass panel

    Apply new adhesive strips along the inner border of the frame. Press the rear glass panel firmly back onto the chassis to seal the device.
