   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool or thin paperclip into the hole at the top edge of the device. Firmly press to pop out the tray and remove it completely.

   Heat the rear glass edges

   Use a heat gun or hair dryer to warm the outer edges of the rear glass cover for two minutes to soften the underlying adhesive.

   Attach the suction cup

   Press a suction cup firmly onto the lower portion of the rear glass near the bottom edge.

   Insert an opening pick

   Pull up on the suction cup to create a small gap between the glass and frame, then slide a plastic opening pick into the seam.

   Slice the perimeter adhesive

   Slide the plastic pick around all four edges of the back cover to cut through the perimeter tape holding it in place.

   Remove the rear glass cover

   Carefully lift the rear glass off the phone chassis and set it aside on a clean, soft surface.

   Unscrew the upper midframe screws

   Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the 15 screws securing the wireless charging coil and plastic upper midframe.

   Remove the wireless charging coil

   Gently unclip and lift the wireless charging coil with attached NFC antenna off the internal assembly.

   Disconnect the battery cable

   Use the flat end of a spudger to pry the battery press connector straight up off the motherboard.

    Remove the bottom loudspeaker module

    Pry up the lower speaker assembly housing from the bottom of the frame and lift it out.

    Disconnect display and sensor flex cables

    Use a spudger to disconnect the display flex cable, front camera, and audio jack connectors from the board.

    Remove the motherboard retaining screw

    Unscrew the single Phillips #000 screw holding the motherboard to the top frame area.

    Extract the motherboard

    Carefully lift the motherboard out of the phone chassis, making sure no loose cables snag on the board edges.

    Apply flux to solder pads

    Apply a small drop of soldering flux over the solder pins securing the USB-C charging port to the motherboard.

    Desolder the defective charging port

    Heat the anchor points and data pins with a fine soldering iron tip and use desoldering braid to absorb the old solder.

    Clean the motherboard contact pads

    Wipe away remaining solder debris and burnt flux from the contact pads using isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab.

    Solder the replacement charging port
