Overview
Step-by-step
- 1
Power Off Phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before beginning.
- 2
Eject SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole at the top edge of the phone. Push firmly to pop out the tray and remove it from the device.
- 3
Heat Rear Glass Edges
3 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer on low heat to warm the outer edges of the back cover for 2 to 3 minutes. This softens the adhesive securing the glass to the frame.
- 4
Attach Suction Cup
1 minPlace a suction cup on the lower portion of the rear glass near the bottom edge. Press down firmly to create a tight seal.
- 5
Create an Opening Gap
2 minPull up gently on the suction cup to lift the rear glass slightly from the frame. Insert a thin plastic opening pick into the seam at the bottom edge.
- 6
Slice Bottom Edge Adhesive
2 minSlide the plastic pick carefully along the bottom edge of the phone to cut through the perimeter adhesive sealant.
- 7
Slice Left Edge Adhesive
2 minCarefully guide the opening pick around the bottom-left corner and up the left edge of the phone. Keep the pick shallow to prevent damaging internal components.
- 8
Slice Top Edge Adhesive
2 minMove the pick across the top edge of the device to separate the adhesive near the microphone and SIM slot.
- 9
Slice Right Edge Adhesive
2 minSlide the pick down the right edge towards the bottom-right corner to finish cutting the remaining perimeter adhesive.
- 10
Remove Rear Glass
1 minGently lift the loosened back cover straight up and away from the body of the phone. Set the old glass panel aside.
- 11
Clean Frame Adhesive
4 minApply high-concentration isopropyl alcohol to a lint-free cloth and clean off all old adhesive residue from the aluminum frame. Ensure the rim is entirely dry and smooth before installation.
- 12
Apply Replacement Cover
2 minPeel off the protective film from the pre-applied adhesive on your replacement back cover. Align the panel carefully with the camera housing and press down firmly around all edges.
