   Eject SIM Card Tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole at the top of the phone to pop out the SIM card tray. Pull the tray completely out of the device.

   Heat the Rear Glass

   Use a heat gun on low heat for two minutes around the outer edges of the rear glass. This softens the factory adhesive holding the back panel in place.

   Attach Suction Cup

   Press a heavy-duty suction cup onto the lower third of the rear glass panel. Pull gently upward to create a small gap along the bottom seam.

   Insert Opening Pick

   Slide a thin plastic opening pick into the seam created by the suction cup. Do not insert the pick deeper than 4mm to avoid damaging internal ribbons.

   Slice Rear Adhesive

   Slide additional opening picks around all four edges of the back panel to cut through the remaining adhesive. Reapply heat briefly if the adhesive stiffens.

   Lift Off Rear Glass

   Gently lift the back cover straight up off the chassis. Set it aside on a clean surface.

   Unscrew Midframe Assembly

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 6 screws securing the top plastic cover and wireless charging pad.

   Remove Wireless Charging Coil

   Carefully pry up the edges of the wireless charging pad with a spudger. Peel the coil and top midframe off the phone.

   Disconnect Battery Press Connector

   Use the flat end of a plastic spudger to pop the battery connector straight up from its motherboard socket. This prevents electrical shorts during repair.

    Unscrew Loudspeaker Module

    Remove the 7 Phillips #00 screws holding down the lower speaker assembly at the bottom of the device.

    Remove Loudspeaker Module

    Insert a spudger beneath the loudspeaker housing and pry upward to unclip and remove it.

    Disconnect Display Cable

    Use a spudger to detach the main display flex cable from the lower section of the motherboard.

    Disconnect Daughterboard Cables

    Unclip the front camera, headphone jack, and remaining interconnect flex cables from the motherboard.

    Unscrew Motherboard Bracket

    Remove the single Phillips #00 screw securing the main motherboard to the top frame assembly.

    Lift Out Motherboard

    Carefully tilt the top of the motherboard upward and remove the entire board assembly from the frame.

    Remove Earpiece Speaker

    Insert tweezers under the metallic earpiece speaker at the top edge of the frame and gently lift it free.

    Remove Vibration Motor

    Apply a drop of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol around the circular vibration motor. Pry it out carefully with a spudger.

    Soft-Pry the Battery

    Apply isopropyl alcohol around the edges of the battery cavity and let it sit for two minutes. Use a flat plastic card to carefully lift the battery out.

    Transfer Components to New Display

    Set the new display and frame assembly flat. Reinstall the earpiece speaker, vibration motor, motherboard, and battery into the new frame.

    Reassemble Device Covers

    Reconnect all flex cables, secure the loudspeaker and wireless charging brackets with their screws, and apply new adhesive to reinstall the back panel.
