Step-by-step

Power Off the Device
1 minPress and hold the Side button, then tap Power Off on the screen.

Remove the SIM Card Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the top edge of the phone to remove the tray.

Heat the Rear Glass Panel
3 minApply heat to the outer edges of the back cover using a heat gun for 2 to 3 minutes to soften the adhesive.

Apply a Suction Cup
2 minPress a suction cup onto the lower section of the rear glass and pull upward gently to create a gap.

Insert an Opening Pick
2 minSlide a thin plastic opening pick into the small seam between the glass and the frame.

Slice the Perimeter Adhesive
3 minCarefully slide the pick around all four edges of the back cover to cut through the remaining adhesive.

Remove the Rear Glass
1 minLift the rear glass cover straight up and set it aside safely.

Unbolt the Midframe Screws
3 minRemove the 15 Phillips #000 screws securing the wireless charging pad and midframe.

Detach the Wireless Charging Assembly
2 minUse a spudger to gently pry up and remove the wireless charging module from the frame.

Disconnect the Battery
1 minUse the flat end of a spudger to snap the battery flex connector off the motherboard.

Remove the Loudspeaker Module
2 minPry up and remove the bottom speaker assembly covering the lower sub-board.

Disconnect the Daughterboard Interconnect Cables
2 minUnplug the display interconnect cable and blue/white antenna coaxial cables from the microphone sub-board.

Remove the Microphone Sub-Board
1 minLift the damaged sub-board containing the primary microphone out of the phone frame using tweezers.

Install the New Microphone Sub-Board
2 minAlign the replacement sub-board over the lower frame cavity and press it flat into position.
